Robert J. Kim co-founded Blank Kim Injury Law and is licensed in Virginia and Maryland. He represents people injured by someone else’s carelessness, from ordinary rear-end collisions to serious premises cases, and much of his work involves holding insurers to what their policies actually cover.
Rob was born and raised in New York City, and he is fluent in Korean thanks to his parents, who came from South Korea. Korean-speaking clients in Annandale, Centreville and across Northern Virginia can work with him directly, without an interpreter in the middle of their own case.

Virginia’s contributory negligence rule makes these cases harder here than almost anywhere else, because an insurer that can pin any share of blame on you can try to defeat the claim entirely. Much of the work in a routine-looking crash is refusing to let that argument go unanswered.

This matters more than it sounds. Injury claims turn on precise descriptions of pain, symptoms and sequence, and those details get flattened when they pass through a family member acting as interpreter. It also means an insurer cannot take advantage of a language gap.

Rob makes a point of being reachable for his clients through the life of a case rather than only at the start and the end. Most people calling us have never dealt with an injury claim before and do not know what is normal.
He served on the board of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association during law school and remains active in the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Maryland.
